About FindABA
FindABA is a national directory of ABA therapy providers built to help families find the right provider faster — with real information on waitlists, insurance, and therapeutic approach.
Why this exists
Finding ABA therapy is unnecessarily hard. Parents of newly-diagnosed children regularly report calling 20–40 providers before finding one with availability. Existing directories show a name, address, and phone number — nothing else. Families have no way to know a provider's waitlist, which insurance plans they actually accept, or whether they use neurodiversity-affirming approaches before making that first call.
FindABA was built to fix that. Every listing in our directory surfaces the information that actually matters — before families spend weeks on hold.
Our data sources
Provider records are sourced from the National Provider Identifier (NPI) Registry, a public database maintained by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. NPI data includes provider name, address, phone number, and taxonomy classification. We use taxonomy code 103K00000X(Behavior Analyst) to identify ABA therapy providers.
Additional fields — waitlist times, specific insurance plans accepted, age ranges served, therapy modalities, and neurodiversity-affirming status — are collected through direct provider verification and self-reported updates. Fields are labeled Verified when confirmed directly with the provider and Not yet verified when only NPI data is available.
Editorial standards
Our goal is accurate, actionable information for families navigating the ABA therapy system. Blog content is written with reference to peer-reviewed research, Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) guidelines, state Medicaid agency publications, and state insurance department regulations. We update content when policies change.
FindABA does not provide medical advice. ABA treatment decisions — including hours, modality, and program design — should always be made by a qualified Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in collaboration with the child's family.
